Phoenix: If I Feel Better (Remix)

Submitted by blake on August 10, 2009 – 3:32 pmOne Comment

djkickserlendoye7yfThis song is as close to early 1970’s sweat disco as we can get in our era. With a beautifully rhythmic bass beat that lends support to smooth lyrics put out by Thomas Mars, this song takes me to another level. Not to mention the guitar and other background sound mixes; each like a color of the rainbow in synchronicity. Instantly, I knew it was one of those anytime songs – a song that can be used in any situation, anywhere.

The patterning of the chords is near perfect, and the flow between verse and chorus almost sets up a new song in itself. DJ Kicks putting his own touches on the already great song helps propel this song in to one of my picks for this summer. Now I know this one dropped five years ago, but that doesn’t mean we can’t help this jewel resurface into a greater status. The sound is complete smoothness and the lyrics seem to melt in with the whole experience. This song is the gin, folks, not the tonic.
This jam first came to my ear while poolside, so you know fate was trying to say something about the matter.
“Such sweet compulsion doth in music lie.”

Well Blake, you told me to get on this site and like a blind sheep I did. Now I am a blind sheep listening to good music. I like what I see so far, but maybe pool party naked people might extend one way or another. Peace, Michael C
